Well after teaching for 21 years, my comfort level is growing in technology. This summer I spent time in Zoom Webinars, in Google Slides/Doc PD, and in developing Canvas courses. I am not sure I actually had a summer between all my online research and time in professional development seminars. ...

Zoom or Doom?
Just like the name suggests, Zoom came into our lives out of nowhere. Overnight, this program which has existed since 2013 has worked its way into our everyday vocabulary. But, with sudden fame, come sudden problems. That means that the world’s newest infatuation is facing some ...
Read the rest of this topicSo my district went to the platform Canvas this year. They really didn't do a great job of training or even rolling this out to the teachers, students or parents. Most teachers either had a Moodle or Google site for the past few years and now the district is saying we all need to use Canvas because that is the format that collages are using. Is that true? Does anyone have any real data on that? Would love to hear others opinions on the topic. Please help!

I find that teaching civic education is more interesting now that I have 1:1 devices. The ability to find information is amazing, but I struggle with how to engage students in the tough conversations. I recently held a structured academic conversation on Gun Control, but students were not into it. The issue of how to prepare came up and what the next steps should be. I now reach out to the civic education network - what should happen now? We have google docs and the ability to present. WHere do I go from here?

I'm having an observation next week from our district's consulting firm
and they want to see the use of our 1:1 technology in the classroom. I
am teaching the Constitutional Convention that day and am looking for an
engaging lesson that involves technology. Any ideas??
