Netiquette When Communicating Through Online Platforms

Netiquette has been around for a while, but with today's new normal of online communication and eLearning, it's getting a new lease on life. Below are some things to remember. Feel free to share your ideas by replying to this post. 

Teacher Netiquette when communicating through online platforms:

  • Be Scholarly (proper language and grammar)

  • Be Respectful (Respect diversity of opinions; prior knowledge; circumstances)

  • Be Professional (Represent yourself well at all times

    • This applies to dress, background, items in your background, environment you are in, noise.

  • Be Polite (refrain from using sarcasm)

  • Stay Away from using ALL CAPS. This implies that you are shouting.
