Well after teaching for 21 years, my comfort level is growing in technology. This summer I spent time in Zoom Webinars, in Google Slides/Doc PD, and in developing Canvas courses. I am not sure I actually had a summer between all my online research and time in professional development seminars. And some people think teachers are off for the summer. But, actually it's because for too long I have really been behind the technology curve. I will admit I get stuck in a rut. Like most teachers, I have spent years perfecting my powerpoint slides, lectures, and worksheets. Google? Why would I want to go there? Well due to this pandemic, I have been thrusted forward into this new world of technology. And instead of coming kicking and screaming, I opened up and let it in. I reached out to younger teachers and allowed them to teach me. I watched YouTube videos on How-To and read as many blogs as I could. I am feeling more confident than ever. We all must become online teachers now! The time is here and the time is now. My student need me and I am proud to say I am up for the challenge. Bring It!!!
Yes, technology really does improve our lives, and I have seen it many times. Personally, I use ghostwriter services and I am very happy because I understand how much it helps and simplifies my life. I think that many people use different technologies and services to help us. The main thing is to understand that you can't replace everything with technology and do nothing, you need to keep a balance.
