I also narrowed down what each high needs student was responsible for and gave them more assistance as they worked on their part of the hearing. I gave specific guidance on how they were to participate in the hearing so that they knew exactly what to do and when. It was really good for them to experience the success of the whole group when the hearing was completed."

Strategically grouping students is very important when it comes to working with high needs students.  Consider putting students with other students that will help them through the process.
