As Teacher Appreciation Week comes to a close, I have a few reflections. As a middle school teacher I do not get showered with as many gifts as my elementary teacher friends, but I do feel appreciated. This week has been filled with little notes and cards from my students and parents. I have received chocolates and hugs. But most importantly, I see the thanks on their faces. I hear it in their thank you's when they leave my room. Even students that struggle with the language have scribbled notes of thanks.
I am extremely thankful for my students. As the school year comes to ending and we still have state testing ahead, it has been a great week to reflect on my students and how far they have grown this year. I am thankful for them and so grateful to have the opportunity to work and shape our future. For those teachers out there, I hope you have had a great Teacher Appreciation Week. Feel free to share your experience.
